On my ride back to Portland, I stayed overnight in Medford. Met up with Wibby for breakfast Tuesday Am.

Then we hit the rode heading north up I-5. Oregon is beautiful, even with the low level clouds hanging around the hills.

As we got on the freeway, I realized that I was approaching a milestone on my 2006 R1150GSA. Had not told Wibby I would need to stop. He recorded this video….

Just about to turn over 100,000 K on this bike.

I bought the bike new in 2006. Last of the 1150 models and only a small number were produced. I have ridden this bike hard, on and off road. Covering 47 states including Alaska twice (once two up with my lovely wife Chris ), and all the rideable Canadian Provinces. As I continued the ride north solo back to Portland, I had a flood of memories from the rides I have taken. It was good! Of course it also carries Sadness in the loss of Chris We rode two up across the US and to Alaska before she declined into Alzheimer’s and moto travel was not possible. It was good mental health for me to get out and ride.

Somehow my routing missed two states….

But lots of places visited.

Arrived home and had lots to get done before I am on the my next “adventure”. I am sitting at the airport about to Board a plane to Washington DC. This photo sort of says it all. Of the 6 major killers in the US over an 8 year period. Only Alzheimer’s is rising ….. No Treatments, No Cure it is always terminal. Going to DC to speak with our politicians about the need to change what is happening with this disease.
