Manapouri to Invercargill
After such great weather in both Milford and Doubtful sound…. I am getting used to it! But it is fall and the mornings are crisp and reaching into the 30’s F some mornings. But quickly warming up to 50-70’s.
As I ride the road south, the farms open up. Have seen lots of Deer Farms. We have them in the woods, and in NZ they raise them in the farms. I keep thinking they will jump over the fences and head into the road, but they do not
What has been great about riding the roads in NZ is the lack of much traffic as I ride the rural roads!
The road soon follows the coastline.
Always nice to smell the sea breeze, feel the sunshine and enjoy the peacefulness of the place!
The blue sky, Green fields sometimes dotted with Sheep, bluish Ocean. Really great!
I arrive early afternoon to Invercargill. First stop E Hayes and Company Hardware.
One of my very favorite Movies. “worlds Fastest Indian” with Anthony Hopkins.
They have his original bikes, and parts on Display, as well as many other bikes and a few cars.
Loved this wall from his shop, and from the movie.
Also had to take a quick ride out to the Oreti Beach….. Where he tested his bikes for speed.
He would have been speeding down this beach. Very cool!
And then I met up with Scott (chekamus) Adv who invited me to stay. They are british, and recent arrivals to stay in NZ. I was able to load my GS -911 software on his computer and connect it to the bike, with Scotts help.
GS-911 is really cool as it gets you access to all the computer data for the bike.
So it has to do with a fuse of the fuel pump….. Talked with Sebastian up at Experience BMW. And he was really helpful. Next job is to pull the fuel pump and check to see if the filter is still attached…
Thanks Scott and Kate for a nice evening of travel, motorcycle and life conversations. Good Luck on you new life in NZ!!
