So will do a bit of catch up since I last posted (which was in 2023 . Hard to believe how much I have experienced and seen in these last 10 days.
Stopped in Ivercargill – In part to see Burt Munro history, The classic Motorcycle Museum and Transit Museum.
Burt Munro’s motorcycle and bike parts are housed in the eHayes Hardware store in town.
Then off the the Classic Motorcycle Mecca.
Really an amazing collection of over 300+ motorcycles and history.
Whole section on Burt munro
Too many photos to post. Then off to the Transport Museum. It’s amazing as well even if you are not into trucks. It’s a must see as well.
Loved this quote as Bill Richardson/ His family set up this museum and also Classic Motorcycle Mecca. truly a gift of history and fun for all ages.
Crown jewel of the museum. Truly an amazing truck and one of not many on the globe.
It’s a massive museum. Every room you walk into gets bigger.
His daughter was into Kombi Vans…. Some cool matching trailers which is fitting for NZ. Many people head off to explore in Caravans and Kombi’s
It goes on and on. Will stop with these photos, but was fun to check out the Transit museum. Happened to also be a day of rain in Invercargill, so perfect day to take a break from riding the southern coast!
This resonated during this time of transition.
Back out riding the next day. The skies cleared again. Open roads and sweeping views today.
Lands end always seems to be a draw.
Exploring the coastline as I ride toward Dunedin.
Loving the countryside. Groves of trees.
Always an Irish PUB.
Then New years eve headed back to ring in the new year with Dick and Diana.
Stopped for Coffee and Breakfast in tiny town.
Road from Dunedin, to Queenstown and up the lake to Glenorchy. An amazing Eco Camp in town where we had NYE dinner!
So grateful to ring in the new year 2024 with Dick and Diana. Cannot really express enough gratitude for the connection and friendship we share.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2024. For all that it brings to each of us!
Of course had to do New Years day ride. Look what I found.
Down the gravel roads, across some water crossings, two of which were quite deep. Did not stop to take photos of videos. You will have to trust me I had water over the windscreen couple of them 🙂
End of this road. Start of the DART river trek.
Back up the Dart river outlet
Appreciating the new year. Beautiful gravel roads to explore, and a loaned motorcycle to explore.
The last day I was in Queenstown, The adventure capital of the world. Home of Bunny Jumping. Had to give something new a try!
Decided to jump off a perfectly good mountain top to paraglide into the valley!
Good night Queenstown…. Until we meet again.
Amazon end of 2023 and now into 2024. Will be flying back up to North Island- Auckland and onto part two of this New Zealand Epic ride!
